Eat My Blog Recap: Summer 2010

Eat My Blog 2010: the sugar-loving crowd at Tender Greens, and just a few of the many goodies for sale on Saturday. Photos by Steven Lam Photography.
It’s safe to say that the most common sight in local homes on Saturday were pink and white pastry boxes—empty, slightly creased and spotted with icing and melted chocolate fingerprints. According to Twitter, cupcakes were a popular Sunday breakfast food. Both are signs that there was an epic bake sale this weekend.
Thanks to generous bloggers, bakers, volunteers and buyers, Eat My Blog raised over $5,400 for the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank. After loading up a box of goodies for a couple walking their dogs, one bake sale volunteer commented, “Charity is so much fun!” There were lots of smiles, lots of good food, and most importantly, a good chunk of change raised for charity.
It was so much fun, we’re going to do it again! That is, after everyone has recovered from eating nothing but sweets for two solid days. Stay tuned for details on Eat My Blog 3, coming this winter.
In the meantime, check out Cathy’s complete coverage of the bake sale and a collection of fantastic photos of the bake sale by Steven Lam Photography.
